It’s Time Lapse Time: El Dorado County Strong

If you’re new to MeganHStudio, you may not know about “Time Lapse Tuesday.” Most Tuesdays, I publish a time lapse of a new drawing or custom order that I’ve done recently. It’s usually cheerful pet portraits, or fun nursery art, but today’s Time Lapse Tuesday is not so light-hearted.

In late August my county started to burn. The Caldor Fire in Northern California has burned in a way that makes you consider the undeniable power of Mother Nature. It has mercilessly taken hundreds homes and structures and remains minimally contained despite heroic efforts from fire personnel, first responders and volunteers from all over the country.

I’ve always thought it is our duty to use our talents for good in this world. I can draw. So I drew these:

Images to download, share, and post

I have a few versions of this artwork available for you to download, share, print, post, and use as your social media profile picture. They are high resolution JPEG files, with original formatting in size 11×11 inches.

You can download the high resolution files below (I had a request for a Lake Tahoe version, I just added that one!):

Fundraising Shirts

We did one round of these shirts and raised over $1,500 for fire victims! Every time I wear mine, people ask where they can get one. With the weather changing, I figured you all might need some warmer options, so we’re running this fundraiser again! This artwork is available on a variety of shirts through Custom Ink. ALL proceeds from the sale of these shirts will be donated to the El Dorado Community Foundation to help fire victims. Shirts will be available through November 2, 2021.

You’ll see me running around in the pink tank top! Visit Custom Ink to see all the shirts available with this design!

El Dorado County Strong

When we say that, we mean it. We all have loved ones who’ve lost homes, been evacuated, we have loved ones fighting this fire up close, and it is a lot to bear. Many families will be fighting the aftermath of this fire for years to come, so #staystrong

In case you were wondering…

I draw everything by hand. So that gold pan, the trees, even the mountain outline is all hand drawn. For this project, I used the Procreate drawing app on my iPad Pro with my trusty Apple Pencil. I also used Photoshop to add some the text and finishing touches. The design was inspired by an artist that was part of the Dixie fire. You can find her work here.

  1. Hi There,
Can I still get one of the El Dorado County Strong designs?
I want it in a full zip sweatshirt on the back.
If you don’t have access to that I can supply you with one.
Are these transfers or screen print?
Look forward to hearing from you.

    1. Hi Patti!
The fundraiser through custom ink ended a couple weeks ago so unfortunately the shirts aren’t available to purchase anymore. If you send me an email we can discuss other options! I have a few other printing companies I’ve used for other fundraising projects that don’t have minimum order requirements that I can look into 🙂 they’re screen printed.
