Whew, let me tell you… it can be hard to find Valentine’s that aren’t over-the-top lovie dovie these days. My kids cringe at the thought of anyone being their “Valentine” (except for me, of course), so I made it my mission to create some fun Valentines that don’t insinuate any future situations involving exposure to cooties…plus, they work well for boys AND girls which is a total bonus 😉
BTW, this isn’t the only fun free printable you’ll find from MeganHStudio–the VAULT is full of them!

All those Details are Hand Drawn
It’s from MeganHStudio, so you know those capes are hand drawn 😉 These are free for you to download and print for your personal use. For more info about permissible use and licensing, check out all the details here.
4 Different Color Options
Below you’ll find PDFs to download for all 4 colors. Each template is formatted to print on regular letter sized paper (8.5×11 inches) and should print out well regardless of how cheap your printer is! They’re available to download with one color on a single page, or a variety of colors on one page.
SUPER Easy Assembly
If you have a printer, scissors and a pen, you can pull off some SUPER awesome Valentines!
- Download the templates you want to use
- Print as many as you need (for personal use). I recommend printing on white cardstock (at least 65#), but regular copy paper works just fine too
- Cut them out
- Write in the “to” and “from” info
- Cut along the horizontal lines
- Insert a pencil, pen, or lollipop
Get the Look
Readers always ask me about the specific materials and supplies I use to create my examples in the photos. Here’s some tips and links to where I found these on Amazon:
- 110# white cardstock paper for printing–I like this brand and weight because it is the perfect thickness to feel sturdy, but it won’t create paper feed issues with most printers.
- Colorful Ticonderoga pencils
- For making the incisions to insert the pencils, scissors work fine, but a craft knife comes in handy 🙂
To get the size just right on these, be sure to select “Actual Size” in your print settings, otherwise they may print out slightly smaller.

These are meant to be versatile–they can be used with pencils, straws, and most lollipops with a standard-length stick. You can also use them with bubble wands, pixie stix, and anything else with a similar shape.

Did you know I sell stuff too?
What’s a fingerprint poster?? I’m glad you asked! They’re a perfect way to commemorate guests at an event and also make great thank you gifts for teachers 😉 People add their fingerprint and sign their name on the artwork as a clever way to complete an element. Fingerprint trees are the most common–fingerprints are the added as leaves on the branches. And of course I have lots of great options for all kinds of events and thank you gifts!
