What is a Fingerprint Poster??

Well I’m glad you asked! A fingerprint poster is an alternative to a traditional guestbook for events like birthdays, baby showers, and weddings.

Guests add their fingerprint and sign their name as a clever way to complete the picture. Then you can frame it and add it to the room decor as a keepsake of the day! Fingerprint trees are probably the most common (guests add their fingerprints as leaves), but the possibilities are endless—fingerprints can represent balloons, spots on a giraffe, flower petals, or watermelon seeds!

There are lots of artists out there offering fingerprint posters in all kinds of fun designs. When you buy from MeganHStudio, you know it’s always an art print of my hand drawn originals 😉

It’s Time Lapse Time: Pup and Brindle Kitty

This cute pair of critters is waiting to welcome a big brother or sister (of the human variety), so you can bet their world is about to change!

This was part of a custom order that I got to work on. I’m so grateful for customers coming to me with their great ideas!

To draw this pair I used Adobe Fresco on my iPadPro using an Apple Pencil. It’s mostly drawn using live watercolor brushes, along with a few different sketching pencils that I can’t live without 🙂

He or She will have fun things to look at on the nursery walls!

I don’t always have time so squeeze in custom orders, but when I do I enjoy it!

It’s Time Lapse Time: Out of this World!

Today’s time lapse is astronomical! One of my return customers (that I am so thankful for!) came with a request for an astronaut with stars for guests to sign at a birthday party. The perfect keepsake! This time lapse walks you through part of the creative process. When you draw digitally, you get to test out different mediums…this one started with watercolor, and quickly went to a scratchy pencil look instead for some more defined shadowing and details on this space suit.

It’s Time Lapse Time: This Pup’s Whole World is about to Change!

I’ve been drawing lots of pups lately! This week’s time lapse is a sweet Pit Bull mix who loves to chew on deer antlers and she is ready for the gender reveal party to figure out if she’s getting a little brother or sister.

She’s part of a fingerprint guestbook where guests will add either a pink or blue fingerprint to guess the gender of the baby. Then it can be framed and added to the nursery decor as a keepsake!

This customer actually came to me a few years ago for a custom fingerprint poster for her friend, and now it’s her turn! I love that I get to walk along side my customers and see how their families grow!

I’m sure you can tell, I’m definitely not a professional pet portrait artist, but I’ve got a simple style all my own 😉

It Time Lapse Time: Sweet as a Peach!

Today’s time lapse features a sweet little peach and is ready to be added to your little one’s room as an art print! Look for coordinating fingerprint trees to use at a baby shower or birthday party too 😉

I used Adobe Fresco on my iPad Pro with an Apple Pencil to draw this peach. Gotta love those live watercolor brushes!
