Today’s time lapse is the newest elephant to the MeganHStudio collection. After lots of customer requests to add a baby elephant in this style, I was finally able to check it off my to-do list thanks to a customer having an elephant-themed gender reveal party with timing that lined up with my custom order scheudle! Look for this little peanut in fingerprint trees, art prints, and invitations!
I used Adobe Fresco’s live water color brushes for most of this drawing, and of course, on the iPad Pro with an Apple Pencil. And guess what? I’m working on more jungle safari animals in the same style! Art print set, here we come!
It’s a jungle out there, right?! Especially if you’re planning an extra special jungle safari-themed baby shower! Check out the awesome ideas below to help you simplify the planning, build a cohesive theme, and make sure your guests have a blast while celebrating the parents-to-be.

1. Invitations
Where it all starts. Whether you’re going virtual, or in-person, there are a lot of very cute jungle safari-themed invitations available.
On a budget? Go with digital invites! Or, if you’re old fashioned like me and want to be able to hold an actual invite in your hand, hard copy is the way to go. Either way, make sure all the essentials are included: what, when, where, why, and don’t forget the registry!
INVITEDdesignco has some great safari-themed invites that you can download, edit, and print or send electronically.
Hard copy printed invitations are becoming harder and harder to find these days! I have a few available, and there are also some cute options from other sellers on Etsy too.
A few jungle-themed items can go a long way as far as the decor is concerned. Think centerpieces, a back drop, or main table for food and favors, and a few safari touches here and there with animal print balloons, banners and signs. A pack of big faux tropical leaves, some animal print balloons and ribbon, and some neutral elements can go a long way!
If you like to DIY, I have a free printable “Stay Wild” jungle themed banner you can download, cut and assemble. All that jungle foliage on the pendants is hand drawn, btw! It comes in 3 sizes, including a mini size which works great for cake toppers or table settings.
Whether you’re doing a full spread or just some simple appetizers, there are lots of ways to include a safari motif into what you’re serving. You can go crazy with a lion veggie platter and elephant fruit salad, or you can serve popular food choices and gussy up the food table with som jungle safari decor.
Lion Veggie Dip Tray? Yes, please!

Seriously cute, and also healthy!
4. The Guestbook
Arguably the most important part of the baby shower. If you know me, you know I may be slightly biased here, but you have an opportunity to ensure that the memories and the people at the baby shower are cherished forever. Seize that opportunity!
Fingerprint Guestbooks: My specialty 🙂 These come in a variety of designs and styles. The popular ones I have are trees. Guests add their fingerprint and sign their name as a leaf on the tree. I have others where fingerprints are added as balloons or spots on a giraffe. Once everyone has added their “personal touch,” frame it and add it to the nursery decor! It doesn’t get any better than that! Imagine sweet jungle animals and the fingerprints of loved ones greeting you every time you come into the nursery. That’s where it’s at!
It’s good to have a mix of passive and active activities to make things fun for all your guests. I say go for the things that will serve a purpose later too! Fun game or advice cards that you can keep or photo props that can be used in pictures to add to the baby book. Or my favorite, a onesie or bib decorating station. That way guests can get creative AND baby gets some cute clothes! Check these ideas out:
iprintbaby has you covered with this instant download pack of activities!
If you’re planning on cupcakes, I have you covered with free printable cupcake wrappers with a jungle foliage pattern! If you’re planning to go with a cake, check out these fun cake toppers!
Regardless of how extravagant you go with the decor and details, the important part is that your friends and family can come together for a good time and celebrate the parents-to-be and the new baby!

Today’s time lapse is a little cutie, for sure! I worked on this as part of a cutie-themed baby shower fingerprint tree a customer requested last month. I used Adobe Fresco’s live watercolor brushes to “paint” the mandarin. Do you have a Little Cutie who needs this in their room??

Is school closed for your kids? Chances are, their teachers are still busting their buns to put together Zoom meetings, distance learning packets, and seriously missing their classroom full of students right now. And it’s probably breaking their hearts that they may have had the last in-person day of school for the year, and not even known it at the time.
This time of the year, fingerprint tree thank you gifts are usually my biggest seller. But without kids in class to add fingerprints to a picture (and because fingerprints = germs), it sure makes it hard to create a thoughtful end-of-the-year gift from the whole class. I’m still committed to being a part of thanking teachers! I’ve put together a VIRTUAL option for the teacher appreciation-themed fingerprint trees I have.
How it Works:
Pick the style you like best (fingerprint tree, dandelions, or hot air balloon)
Pick the size you want (8×10, 11×14, or 12×16 inches)
Enter how you want the text personalized
Included a list of students’ names
then….
I’ll add illustrated “fingerprints” and the students’ names digitally
Print it on heavyweight cardstock
Ship it out to you or your teacher’s school!
No actual fingerprints (or germs), no shuttling around town to every student’s house, no fretting over that one kid who puts a fingerprint in a goofy spot; I take care of all the tricky stuff for you, and your kids’ teachers still get a memorable keepsake of the year we were all stuck at home!
BTW, it works great for teacher’s aides and other classroom helpers too!
At the moment, I’m only offering this virtual option on my Teacher Appreciation designs, but if you’re having a virtual baby shower or a drive-by birthday party and would like one, just let me know!
